So my new beanies are all about color! I feel like it's time for me to do somethings that a year ago I would not have tried!
And then some Super long (96 inches kinda long) skinny scarf's.
I still have 6 more beanies that I will post over the next few days, and 2 sets of handwarmers...and of course more are in the works right now! I'm so excited that I found my motivation again!
wow, so i know i haven't updated this in FOREVER, but i am still around! I have lately been working diligently to get some new things made, and i have a friend that is going to take some professional pics of all my stuff and redo all my etsy pics, i am excited about that! I promise to get back into the swing of posting more often!
Sorry no pics and I will be away from the web for a week!! But maybe there will be pics when I get back!! Mind you, I'm not promising anything!! Headed in the same direction as last year and hope to be in Newport longer and deeper (I did'nt get very far in last time, never saw water). Stay tuned and if there is some time before classes start in Aug. I will try to get back to this.
Monday afternoon I was performing my monthly MySpace check ( I have a few friends from back home that refuse to upgrade to Facebook) and I got an email (myspace email) from one of my very best friends from high school. We have had a bit of a tough time keeping up with each other because I am addicted to the constant and immediate contact provided by the internet while she has just recently got a cell phone and internet! It still really amazes me that there are people just now catching on to these things!
Knitting news! I've been busy lately, and of course still horrible about taking pictures! I finished Mr. Awesome's blanket and gave it to him for his birthday. I'm going to visit him in Boulder this weekend so I will get a picture of the blanket complete to post it. I also have orders for 2 "sock beanies". Basically a wind sock with a puff ball on the end! I'm looking forward to getting started on those, and then another friend asked me to make her 2 beanies...she picked out the yarn and told me to be creative! So far I've made 2 from one skien she got and 3/4 of a beanie from the 2nd skein she got...I wanted to give her some options, and also it will give me a couple more things to post to Etsy! In my "spare time" this week I was playing with some stitches and made a shrug and a skinny scarf that I need to take pics of and post on Etsy. *sigh* and I had a couple of friends from back home message me on facebook about some custom orders...we'll see if that turns into anything, but I'm hopeful!
Anywho, time to pack!
Actually spring break is over Monday and it's Saturday now. I've been a busy little bee. I'm reading things for school and for interest, both are pretty good. For school it's Gender in Archaeology. The book I'm reading for pleasure is The Heretics Daughter.
I have been pretty busy, I just got home from a second cousins second wedding. It wasn't bad!! Of course the rest of the day is free time for me to do anything I want and I will spend it with my computer watching You Tube videos of cast ons for toe up socks I'm going to "get it" if "it" kills me!!!
Meanwhile there are some projects that are finished. When I get them loaded to flickr, they will be here soon. Sorry this post is so short, I just wanted to prove that I am indeed still here, just not as active as I would like.
This weekend I am having a $5-$10 off Sale on all of my Cowl's, Scarf's, and Beanies (that are not already in the sale items list).
Also I'm finally finishing up the blanket I started for Mr. A last year, my goal is to get it done before he comes on Monday, but I think more realistically it will be done before he leaves on Saturday!
TAKE BETTER NOTES WHEN CREATING A NEW PATTERN!
So my amazingly awesome long black fingerless glove with the heart...It's perfect, but unfortunately I just discovered that I did not take such awesome notes while making it! I was trying to take my scribbles from my notebook and put it into pattern format in excel, so I could print it up and more easily check rows off to keep track, when I came to the harsh realization that I have no idea at which point I started the pattern! I tried counting the rows on my one finished glove, but then the number of rows does not match my tally mark count! *sigh* I suppose it's back to the drawing board, and I will have to keep this pair since I'm nearly sure they won't perfectly match.
Status - Epic Fail!
This was my first attempt at incorporating the pattern into an item! These will be posted on Etsy soon! I like how these turned out, but I think I can do better...they need some more shape. so...
This is what I worked on today! I "perfected" the pattern I had used to make the purple ones! Surprising less stitches, some decreases just below the wrist to give it more shape, and I think they are perfect! I've been fighting with myself as to post them, or to keep them! I know it's a good idea to actually wear things I make because it's great free advertising, but at the same time I love them so much that I think they would sell well on Etsy!
I did create the pattern, so I can and will definitely make more...I think I should keep these and make more! =D
